YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SUPPORT OPERATION

YESSO operation is in line with Nigerian government’s commitment to poverty reduction by providing the poor people access to increased opportunities for youth employment and social services. The need for such an intervention was driven by the deteriorating welfare status of Nigerians, especially the rural dwellers.

The Development Objective (DO) is “to increase access of the poor and vulnerable, using improved social safety nets systems, to youth employment opportunities in all participating states and to provide targeted cash transfers to the poor, vulnerable and internally displaced people (IDPS) in the North East States”.
