FUNCTIONS<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>OF<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>THE<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0ICT <\/u><\/strong>DEPARTMENT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

The Department of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is one of the core departments of the Ministry with responsibilities to:<\/p>

i. Create, update, and manage Ministry’s websites\/portals, servers, and email accounts, ensuring security and relevance – (Digital Presence Management);<\/p>

ii. Plan, organize, and oversee ICT infrastructure development including WLAN, LAN etc, ensuring efficient use of resources, scalability, and alignment with Ministry’s goals – (ICT Infrastructure Development & Management);<\/p>

iii. Provide in-house ICT maintenance services, ensuring optimal functionality of Ministry’s ICT infrastructure and systems – (ICT Maintenance & Support);<\/p>

iv. Implement hardware protection and security measures to safeguard ICT environment and infrastructure – (ICT Security & Protection);<\/p>

v. Drive digital transformation of government services, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and citizen access – (E-Governance Initiatives);<\/p>

vi. Oversee development, deployment, and administration of system software and applications on Ministry networks – (System Software & Application Management)<\/p>

vii. Design and implement ICT Capacity Development for staff, enhancing productivity and ICT skills. (ICT Literacy & Proficiency);<\/p>

viii. Advise on adherence to ICT standards, norms, and regulations, ensuring compliance with ICT National Policy. – (ICT Standards & Best Practices);<\/p>

ix. Liaise with NITDA, CPN, and other MDAs, and partner with local and foreign organizations to share knowledge and best practices. – (Collaboration & Partnerships);<\/p>

x. Assist in preparing materials for workshops, press briefings, speeches, and conferences, supporting Ministry’s communication goals. – (Communications Support)<\/p>

xi. Participate in bilateral and multilateral ICT collaborations, supporting international relations and partnerships. – (ICT Representation & Relations)<\/p>

xii. provide and maintain a Digital Data Centre of analyzed and evidence-based data\/information for the Ministry; and<\/p>

xiii. Develop and implement ICT Departmental Operational Plan in conformity with the Ministry\u2019s Strategic Plan.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Where reasonable grounds exist for suspecting that any person has conspired to commit or has committed an offence under the corrupt practice and other related offences Act 2000 or any other law prohibiting corruption, to receive and investigate any report of the conspiracy to commit, attempt to commit or commission of such offences and in the appropriate cases, the Anti-corruption and Transparency unit (ACTU) is the unit responsible for carrying out all necessary actions as indicated in the extant rule of the ministry.<\/p>
